Cape York Weather
The climate of Cape York Peninsula is tropical, at times hot and at times humid. The tropical wet season runs from November to April and the tropical dry season from May to October. Temperatures average from 28 °C for low lying areas of Cape York to 18 °C from areas of higher elevation, where it always remains slightly cooler year round.
Rainfall in Cape York ranges from over 2000 mm to only 700 mm in the
drier southern regions. The majority of the yearly rain, falls during
the wet season of November to April when the majority of the northern
areas of Cape York Peninsula are accessible by boat and plane only.
